Post-Task Actions in GS Auto Clicker: Auto Shutdown, Log Off and Quit After a Run

Buried in GS Auto Clicker’s options is a feature most rivals lack: post-task actions. When a clicking run with a finite repeat count completes, the program can leave the PC idle, log off, shut the machine down, or simply quit — the classic setup for an overnight farm that should not still be running (and heating the room, and wearing the fans) at breakfast.

How it works

  1. Set your clicking options and interval as usual (guide).
  2. Under Options → Clicking → Repeat, choose a finite repeat count — post-task actions only make sense when a run can actually finish. “Repeat until stopped” plus a shutdown action is a contradiction.
  3. In the program’s general/post-task settings, choose the action: idle (do nothing extra), log off, shut down, or quit the program.
  4. Start the run with F8 and walk away. When the count is exhausted, the action fires.

Before you trust it overnight

  • Do a dress rehearsal. Run a 20-click version of the exact setup and watch the action fire. Shutdown means shutdown — unsaved work in other apps will be lost.
  • Close or save everything else. Post-task shutdown does not politely save your spreadsheet.
  • Mind the game’s rules. An overnight AFK farm is precisely what many online games prohibit; a clever shutdown timer does not change the ban risk. See the per-game labels in our games guides.
  • Power and heat: a laptop running a game all night needs ventilation and mains power; a shutdown action at the end helps only if the run actually completes — a crashed game hangs the plan, so keep runs conservative.

Alternatives for timers

Windows’ own shutdown /s /t <seconds> command can time a shutdown independently of any clicker run — useful if your run is “until stopped”. For presence simulation without a farm, see anti-AFK setups.
