GS Auto Clicker Mac App Won’t Open? Gatekeeper and Accessibility Fixes

The GS Auto Clicker Mac app is a small 2022 utility from outside the Mac App Store, so macOS Gatekeeper treats its first launch with suspicion. Two separate gates stop people: Gatekeeper won’t let it open, and — sneakier — it opens but cannot click because Accessibility permission is missing. Here is both.

Gate 1: “Cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified”

  1. In Finder, right-click (Control-click) GSAutoClicker.app → Open. The dialog now offers an Open button — this one-time bypass is Apple’s intended path for trusted non-store apps.
  2. If there is no Open button (newer macOS), open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll to the message about GS Auto Clicker being blocked, and choose Open Anyway, then authenticate.
  3. Only do this for the genuine file: GSAutoClicker.zip from goldensoft.org (858,320 bytes, SHA-256 9451876af2b84cf10a8f4b0f65d445e55d28c6e173c6f942c242a28a50a03c5c) — get it via our Mac page. A “Mac version” from anywhere else deserves the block.

Gate 2: Opens, but clicks do nothing

  1. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility.
  2. Find GSAutoClicker in the list (add it with + from Applications if absent) and turn it on.
  3. Quit and relaunch the app. Simulated clicks now register system-wide.

Every Mac click-simulation tool needs this permission; it is macOS working as designed, not an app bug. If you previously denied it, the toggle — not a reinstall — is the fix.

Other Mac realities

  • The app is version 1.2 from 2022 and is not receiving updates; on the newest macOS releases, expect Gatekeeper wording to keep evolving even though the steps stay the same.
  • It is a different, smaller app than the Windows edition — Windows instructions (F8, Recording menus) do not map one-to-one. If you need Windows-edition features, run Windows in a VM or use a Mac-native alternative (compared here).
