“GS Auto Clicker Isn’t Commonly Downloaded”: What the Browser Warning Means

You downloaded the installer and your browser announced: “GSAutoClicker.exe isn’t commonly downloaded. Make sure you trust it before opening it.” This is a reputation warning, not a malware detection — and for a niche freeware tool it is almost unavoidable.

Why the browser says this

Chrome’s Safe Browsing and Edge’s SmartScreen track how often a file is downloaded across the web. A small utility whose genuine installer spreads modest volume — much of it through mirrors and an old website — never builds the download counts that silence the warning. The browser is telling you “we don’t have enough data”, which is honest, and puts the verification job on you.

Make the decision with the hash, not vibes

  1. In the browser’s download bar/shelf, choose Keep (Edge) or the download arrow → Keep (Chrome) to save the file — keeping is not running; you can still inspect it first.
  2. Confirm the size: 867,241 bytes.
  3. Run Get-FileHash .\GSAutoClicker.exe -Algorithm SHA256 in PowerShell and compare to 7c90795c9b28fac978386626f5a54033dc9cba46ef6a3f742fc7d52b394590f2.
  4. Only a matching hash earns a run. Anything else: delete, and re-download from the developer’s own channel via our download page.

Keeping it in each browser

BrowserPath
ChromeDownloads (Ctrl+J) → the warning entry → Keep / “Download suspicious file” confirmation varies by version
EdgeDownloads → … on the file → Keep → “Show more” → Keep anyway
FirefoxDownload panel → click the warning → Allow download

When to walk away instead

If the file came bundled inside a “downloader”, is named anything other than GSAutoClicker.exe, claims to be a “4.0” version, or fails the hash — the warning did its job. Delete and start from the official source. More: the SmartScreen prompt you will likely meet next, and the safety hub.
